Thanks... icon_smile.gif

Lovenox is an anticoagulant injection for people who had DVT (blood cloth)
and other conditions.

I will tell you a couple of the things I experienced.
Lovenox is an injection that is given in a fatty area (like the stomach but since you are pregnant I don't know if that is still the case), but the needle goes just under the skin. You can expect some slight bruising at the site of the injection.
You can expect to have trouble getting bleeding stopped if you get cut. I was advised to use an electric razor instead of a blade to minimize risk when shaving.
Do not increase the amount of green, leafy vegetables and herbs (parsley, spinach, kale, etc.) you eat. These foods contain Vitamin K which helps regulate blood thinning and making a change in the amount you eat of these foods could cause the "thickness" of your blood to change. Medicine may need to be adjusted more frequently.
Expect to have your blood tested a lot. Hopefully your doctor's office has a machine that can test it by sticking your finger instead of drawing blood from your arm every time.
Did you take Coumadin or Warfarin before you were pregnant? A lot of the same rules apply.
I was put on blood thinners at 25 years old, and I was very scared too. I only wish I had someone to talk to about it then.

I hope this helps some!

Yes, I was on coumadin for 1 year it was HORRIBLE icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I went to draw my blood 2 times every week during that time. When I was on coumadin they told me about the leafy greens but not this time, they didn't tell me anything about that, I have no special diet icon_confused.gif . This will be my first baby so I think He or She icon_biggrin.gif will be worth every shot, Im so exited about this pregnancy icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif wish me luck......

Thank You....
