hi,
i want to paint my cake to look like a sea turtle next month, and i wanted to know about painting on fondant with food colors.

even when i painted little black dots on my mermaid cake (posted here) for the eyes on the starfish, the colors bled and the eyes were larger than what i had painted.

although i dusted the fondant to make sure the colors wouldnt bleed, it still happened. my fondant recipe has icing sugar, gelatine, liquid glucose, egg white, glycerine to suit the humid wheather here in malaysia.

what can i do ?

How do i paint on butter icing to get that air brushed look? even the wilton spray paints (which i bought) when sprayed onto butter icing, makes it look 'spotty',...it doesnt work in this wheather.

thanks
deli

The only other thing I would recomend is see if you can find a clear alcohol like vodka and mix it in with the colors to make it evaporate faster and leace the color behind.
