This weekend I baked a yellow cake and added the liquid vanilla/carmel creamer. Wow, the cake tasted great (thanks for the tip!).
I took half the cake and decided to try my hand at these cake balls ... WOW!! Everyone swore the inside was cookie dough, they were great!! I used the yellow cake, added mini chocolate chips and the vanilla/carmel creamer. The finishing touch was to dip them in chocolate. No one throught it was cake!
This weekend I'm going to spend some time with my niece and try other combinations. I've stocked up on nuts, coconut and other fun things to add. I'm ready to experiment! If any good creations come up, I'll be sure to share!
To my fellow cake ball (truffel) lovers... what have been your favorite combo's????
Thanks for all the ideas this website provides!!
I've done several combos too and the one I like best is white cake with peanut butter added into the buttercream to form the ball. Then dipped in chocolate candy melts.
Another one we liked is cinnamon swirl cake with a tiny bit of vanilla added to white chocolate candy melts.
Chocolate cake with chocolate chips too.

I made some for the first time this weekend too. I started with a vanilla cake. The first combo was the cake, pecans and caramel vanilla creamer (i did add cocoa like the recipes says), then I tried the cake mixed w/mini choc chips and cream cheese frosting, and the final combo was the cake mixed with melted peanut butter and mini choc chips. All 3 kinds I dipped in chocolate. I took them to a gathering and someone said, "oh these have cookie dough in them!" The favorite of almost everyone was the cake/peanut butter combo.
