I decided to try doing some poured chocolate. I want to make tools for a cake that I am doing for a company function. I decided to do the cake that was done on Sugar Rush, he made a grooms cake using poured chocolate tools and placing them all over the cake. I think I have my chocolate too thick. Can I re-melt this and pour it thinner? What would be the best way to do it? Or should I start over? TIA ![]()
I'm pretty sure you can remelt the chocolate. I know I do it with candy melts; although I've never made tools.
(I saw that cake and loved it! ) Can you try just breaking the chocolate up to fit in a microwave proof bowl and heating it in the microwave on 25 second intervals?
If you haven't over heated the chocolate you should be able to reheat. If it was too thick add some crisco to it while melting and it will thin it down. You can use up to 2 tablespoons per cup of chocolate to do this, also remember to use the double boil method, not getting your choc to hot. I do not use the microwave on choc, but then that my personal feeling. Hope your cake comes out good, thats a good cake design.
