i am making a cake and i found this one site showing a picture of how i want the cake to look and on the top layer there are what look like coiled wires that stick off the top of the cake and i was wondering if anyone knew what exactly they were and how to do it

Do you have a link to the picture? Or can you post a picture? I have an idea of what you're talking about, but I know of a few different things that look that way. The picture may help us figure out what they are, or how you can make them.

I'm not sure what it is, doubt it is edible! Looks more like twisted wire. The cake is gorgeous, who is this decorator? Janice

if you go to hobby lobby or micheals look in the fake or dried flowers and they have bunches with thos spiral things in them. We got some gold one for a mad hatter cake we made in march. Its the only cake i have made that i dont have a picture of.

You might be able to make these edible by using those fruit strip things for kids, and putting luster dust on them, but it would be a lot of work and time involved. Would be just as good to use the crafty ones, and use like a regular cake topper, you can't eat those either!

I'm going to check out the website, thanks for the add., she sure makes pretty cakes. Janice
