hi Everyone. I fairly new to CC and to cake decorating and I must say I am big time addicted to it. I still have lots to learn as to cake decorating is concerned. I just wanted to let you all know what amazing work you all do. Very impressive. Anyways, I just wanted to ask whether anybody has any comments on Cuisinart stand mixers. I've never had a stand mixer before only hand mixers. I just got a Cuisinart 7qt mixer for my birthday from my husband. So far I am really impressed but I really don't know how to use it very well. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. icon_confused.gif

Seven quart huh, you lucky duck! Ya got the grandma of the KA mixers! icon_biggrin.gif

It took me six months to save up and buy the four quart basic and then I got in the lucky Lowe's ad and now own the five quart Mama. So Janet (Mom) and Jamie (daughter) have been reunited at last (and yes I named them after Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis.) They both have special places sitting on my cupboard, proudly displayed.

I have some special decals on order and they are both are going to the spa and getting a "new" look soon. icon_wink.gif

Unfortunately I do not have any advice except to experiment and have lots of fun!!!!!!!!!!

Did it come with a recipe book?? My KA did and that's how I mastered it. Trial and error!! Good Luck and Congratulations, now make sure you get your money's worth. My husband has begged me to stop using the recipes, he has gained 5lbs since my new acquisition icon_lol.gif

I'm so envious!!! I have been saving for that big Cuisinart and am almost there! I love the seven quart capacity and the 1000w motor. I should handle anything you can throw at it. I had my heart set on the 600 pro Kitchen Aid until this baby came along!! Use it like you would any other mixer, you just won't have to hold onto it!! With that powerful of a motor it will handle the heaviest batches of fondant or gumpaste! HAVE FUN!!

Thank you all. I lost the fear already and started using it. I didn't even want to touch it because I didn't want it to get dirty. I know that's kind of silly but anyway it mixes like a dream. I didn't know what to do while it was mixing since it does all the work for you. It even has a timer so you just set the timer and let it rip. My first cake was my birthday cake(three days later) that I didn't get to have on my actual birthday. I made a tres leches cake and it was delicious. It did come with a recipe book and I can't wait to make some of those yummy recipes, but I'm kind of holding off because my husband has gained white a few pounds and so have I since I started making cakes which wasn't too long ago (only about 8 mos.) Well thanks for responding.
