Does Anyone Have An Idea On How To Make A Light House?

There are some great ones in the gallery that might inspire you. You could pm the people that did them to ask for tips. I just saw today at the craft store some small battery operated tea light candles. I thought to myself that one of them would look cool inside of a lighthouse cake!

well I have never done it and I have no idea how many it needs to feed but my 1st reaction was to make 3 or so 8 inch cakes, stack them on top of each other then make 2 or so 6 inchers do the same, then do a cupcake for the top, sculpt them a bit toss on some white fondant, a little black door at the base, then blue around the top part for the windows, then top the thing off with white again and make a little white ball for the very top.
Again I have never made one so I am not sure how in the real world it would look, buit in theory it should work....oh yeah don't forget to drive a dowel through the whole thing before putting the cupcake on..might even want to consider some cake boards as well for good measure

no I thought it was cute
I'm working on one now.....the cake is due this Saturday. I received instructions from a CC'er (thanks again!) and made a few changes so it could work for my particular cake. I made the lighthouse by wrapping fondant around a plastic cup. I made the railing by cutting small squares in a strip of gumpste and drying it around a can. The roof was made by drying it on a muffin tin. The roof is going to sit on top of a votive holder with a battery operated tealight in it. I'll have pictures of the finished product over the weekend!
