I am thinking of getting a booth at a bridal show coming up in 2 weeks and was wondering a few things..
I am sure alot depends on who is producing the show, but I'm wondering how many people have found them to be beneficial? I have only done one official wedding cake but I'm dying to get into that side of the cake business with both feet.

The show is pretty costly to enter and it seems to be a pretty good one.. They sell advance tickets and tickets at the door. A show this company put on last month sold out thier advance tickets.

Any tips? Suggestions? I would plan on making a couple of dummy cakes in different styles and some mini cupcakes, but anything else? Or would the tasters not be a great idea?

Basically I'm looking for any input at all of any kind!

Yes I can but its $400... hefty price but I'll pay it if I'm convinced it will be beneficial.

Are you licensed? Do you have a storefront?
That also has alot to do if you can even do this.
If so, than go for it! Your work is fabulous. If nothing else for the experience of it. To see what goes down at one. And most all to get your name out there!!!!! I have complete faith in you!!!

Not licensed and I dont have a storefront...
2 things that hadn't crossed my mind.
Perhaps I won't be able to do this anyway...?

( thanks for the compliments by the way!)

If it sold out last year and you think it should do the same this year I'd do it. I would have at least 4 wedding cakes from super elegant to cutoure (sp) to whimsical and even a simple yet elegant one on both round and any other shape you have available. The mini cupcakes is a good idea too but are they to advertise the cupcake tree or just for sampling the cake? If they are for both I'd really stock up on the things. I'd say a minimum of 150 if the thing is gonna possibly sell out tickets like last year. Really put yourself out there and make the people feel like anything is possible and that their day is just as important to you as it is to them. That would really make me want to go with a vendor at a bridal show... plus free cake samples doesn't hurt either. icon_lol.gif

I don't know how it is in you neck of the woods but in Mo. you can't advertise if you are not licensed.
If you are baking without a license we can be fine
some serious dough!!!! (forgive the pun)

Hmmm.
Clearly I haven't given this enough thought.
Good thing for CC.

Perhaps I will take a pass at this for now until I get further established.
Although that was what I was TRYING to do.
