Thanks so much! Should I refrigerate it to get it firm before putting the fondant on, or will that make the fondant sweat?

It's not necessary to refrigerate it before you apply the fondant. Just make sure to use a pretty thin layer of imbc and get it as smooth as possible or it may get a little wonky on ya.

Yes, you can. I do my normal IMBC layer (not thin)- so I do make sure it is cold and firm. That way when you have to smooth out the fondant, its easy and the surface below is solid. Not worked with MMF, but should work the same way. Elaine

I used it with rolled buttercream fondant. I was glad I added the rolled buttercream b/c my IMBC turned out pretty tasteless - especially if you tried to take the cake from the fridge.... I think you must have to leave it out of the fridge if it's an IMBC cake...... otherwise the frosting is too hard and you can't really taste it. The rolled buttercream on the cake tasted great though! Still haven't gotten it quite down, but it always tastes great. The cake I did this for is the my little pony cake in my pics.
