Not sure if this had been asked before, but here goes... can you add meringue to existing BC in order to make RI? I have a bowl of left over BC and now I'm getting ready to do another cake. I hate to waste it! Thanks for your help. usaribbon.gif

Royal icing does not have crisco in it. So adding more MP to BC isn't going to give you royal icing, it is just going to give you BC with more MP in it.

If you have extra buttercream that you don't need to use right away you can always freeze it and thaw it later for future use.

I have used MP in my BC when I decorataed some cookies. It just made the BC stiffen up and get hard like RI.

Just tuck the leftover BC in a air tight container and stick it in the fridge. It'll keep for a long time.
