I've been baking out of my house for two years now and i'm going to open a cake shop does anyone know about copyright laws. Is it illegal to draw characters on cakes?

It is illegal to 'make' any kinds of characters on a cake. This includes drawing it, FBCT, Chocolate transfers, homemade edible images, molded chocolates, or molded fondant figures.

You can't reproduce them in any way.

I have seen shops that sell theme chocolate cakes and chocolates with all the popular characters. If you wanted to do those do you have to pay some sought of royalties. What procedures should be followed.
