Montana? Thinking about moving there and don't know about cooking differences from Arkansas!!!
Dont live there but my dh was born and raised there. He's from an itty bitty town called Lincoln, somewhere outside of Missoula. I hope to go back with him one day and visit. I understand its absolutly beautiful!
Where are you planning on relocating?
I live in Utah, but have spent a bit of time up there. The biggest difference you will find is humidity. (We have very little out here...) Your icing will need a bit more water or milk in the summer because the air is very dry. The only other thing may be the elevation. Montana is higher, and sometimes you need to add flour to cake batter to help it out.
What brings you to Montana? One piece of advice: bring your snow shovel....winters there are fun!! ![]()
Montana is a very big state and the areas are quite different. Where where you wanting information about?
Western Montana between the Helena and Kalispell area.

I think you'll find a much slower-paced life there! The population is sparse and there is a lot of rugged, beautiful country.
High altitude baking can take some getting used to, but it's not impossible. You'll probably find that you enjoy the low humidity after a while. It certainly makes the summer heat more bearable.
Well, Sugarlaced, that's my area! Feel free to PM me with any specific questions you may have, baking or otherwise and I'll do my best to answer them - the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've lived here since I was 13 (minus college and post grad) so if I don't know the answer I'll at least know where you can find it ![]()
