A girl at work is getting married the first weekend in December and wants tuxedo strawberries. No problem, I'll be glad to do it...except WHERE can I find strawberries in December??? I know they'll be expensive, but I really don't care because I'll gladly pass that increased price on to her! Is there a place to order them online and have them shipped to me or something? And will they be big enough to make cute little tuxedo guys? I've never tried to find fresh strawberries in December before!

Thanks for your help!

My grocery store carries them all year long - maybe one of the big chains where you live? They're imported from somewhere I'd imagine?

We also have strawberries available year round. I have had some of the best berries ever in December that were labeled from the Plant City area of Florida. I'm sure they ship nationwide....

make sure you tell her NOW that the price is X plus the cost of the strawberries at that time.

Can you order from Sysco? GFS? They get them from Calif, Mexico, Florida .... wherever the best crop is at the time. Even the ones I get in Dec thru March are pretty good size from Sysco.

To give you an idea on price.....
A flat of strawberries ordered from Sysco in June: $15
A flat of strawberries ordered from Sysco in March: $37

just talk to the manager at your local grocery store and they will order them for you anytime.

Where in the upstate are you? I would start checking at your normal grocery store? Maybe the Farmer's market here in Greenville.

Thanks everyone! I've been busy lately and haven't had a chance to check in...

dl5crew, I'm in Greenville too - hadn't thought of the farmer's market!

Cool to see someone else from Greenville. The closest I have found is someone from Anderson & Greenwood. Good Luck in finding them
