Need Help With Winding Road

Once again I am stumped on how to do this cake. The cake is for work tomorrow and is already baked and iced, problem is the cake is for our boss who is transfering to another Medical Center in Vermont. So he drives an old beat up red truck and has a black lab. So I am using a toy truck with a black lab in the back of the truck as a topper. But I would like to somehow do a winding road from the bottom to the top in buttercream, it is a three tier cake. Any help would be greatly appreciatedicon_smile.gif

the easiest way I can think is to either use some fondant cut into a wavy strip or pipe icing with the big icing tip.....flipped over to make the road smooth and just wind it down stopping and starting as you get to each space between the cakes
....I used the icing tip to pipe the black racetrack on my cupcakes with the racecars.......and it was simple and easy.

Fondant would be nice and easy, but if you want to do it in buttercream you can pipe the edges in and fill it in with a softer flow icing, or a lot of times if I want a dirt road I pipe the edges, fill it with a buttercream to be sticky then add crushed up shortbread or some type of graham crackers (choc makes a darker road). The poured icing would give you more of an asphalt appearance.
