I am preparing for a Bridal Show and need some info on how to store and transport my decorated cake dummies. Can I store these decorated cakes for a long period of time? Will the fondant go moldy??

I'm certainly not an expert, but I have saved decorated dummies for at least a year and they haven't gotten moldy or deteriorated. I covered mine in plastic and stored in a dry, dark cupboard. Hope this info is helpful!

I use BC directly on the dummies and they sit out for months and months, uncovered and on display. The icing dries rock hard so there is no moisture to mold. Mold grows in dark, moist places.

I agree with the others -- I have some (bc and fondant) that have been out on and shelf for a year or so now and they are hard as a rock and look they same as they did in the beginning. There are a couple that I have stored and that I have just put in big clear plastic bags after they hardened a bit.
