Help, a young, family friend passed away suddenly (33 years old) last week and I am bringing a cake for the family after the service. Please help me with a design. I thought of doing the cross cake as I have the pan but not all the family are Christians, in fact some are muslim so my son told me it would be inappropriate. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks so much with this.

I'm sorry about your friend. icon_sad.gif
I would just make something simple with flowers on it.

You could write the person's name, dates, and put "always in our hearts"

I would go for something simple - just some flowers clustered in the middle.

I am very sorry about your friends passing. I had the same problem when one of my neighbor's sister passed. I made a simple cake with white frosting and shells and put an edible image of a dove on top. I will try to attach the picture. This would be for any religion. (Doves are very peaceful.)

Sorry to hear about you friend passing.
I did a few funeral cakes and they were mostly done with clouds and flowers. I put a picture of the person on one of the cakes. The picture was wrapped in plastic wrap then placed on the cake. I hope this helps. I'll be praying for you and family.

so sorry for your loss. A simple cake with dipped strawberries would work. I did one for a lady who passed and it just had simple pale flowers on it and I wrote "In Gods garden now" on it. I don't know if that's apropriate though because of the mix of faiths going to be there. Best of wishes on making it through the day.
