I have taken a break from doing cakes and cookies, and am about to start back doing some every now and then. My question is......can someone give me an idea of how they charge for cookies? I have generally been charging $15 for a dozen royal icing decorated sugar cookies. I want to increase this. I have heard people say charge by the inch. Do you take into account length AND width? I just had someone leave a message on my machine wanting 4 dozen cookies for this weekend and I want to go ahead and settle on a price. Thanks.
I think for an average approx. 4" X 4" decorated cookie you should be charging at least $2.00 a piece. Andif they are really huge, than $3.50 - $4.00. I'm not sure where you are but those are a lot of work!!
I guess $25 per dozen is too much but $20 is too cheap.... hey, maybe $25 per dozen isn't too much. I love making decorated cookies but everyone around her is sooooo cheap! I doubt they would pay that.

I live in a very small FL town. I make small to medium cookies, simple decoration. I charge $1.00 per cookie. For more detailed or larger cookies, I might go upwards of $3.00 but I think a lot of it depends on where you live and what the market is there....
