I need to make a cake for my boyfriend's niece who will be turning 10 years old. They weren't exactly helpful in giving me suggestions for a cake for her. She said she wanted a "party girl" cake, which she explained a party girl is "someone who wears summer clothes and is lazy". That doesn't exactly give me much to go on. But they said anything girl would work. Any suggestions?

1.How about a flipflop cake? Bright and summery Flipflops by the side of water..sitting on some sand with a tropical flower or something like that...

2.If you can model, then you could make a figure in a cutey summery outfit relaxing..or sitting over the edge of the cake...

Ooo,, A flip flop cake was the first thing that popped into my head to. I think I have seen some cute ones on the website too if you need ideas.

I did a birthday cake for a 10 year old today and just airbrushed a 8 inch round hot pink then did daisy like flowers with a ten tip in purple, orange, and lime. The 8 10 year olds at the party all loved it.

I would ask if she likes Hannah Montana. She seems to be the "in" singer for that age group.

I also think that every kid would love a topsy turvy whimsical cake. Just ask what her favorite colors are and go to town. (you can even encorporate the flip flop idea onto the cake!)

A think a flip flop cake would work nicely. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't know if she does Hannah Montana. A topsy turvy cake would be neat to try once, but this cake is for a small gathering so probably not this time.
