Can I make fondant roses and cover a 6 in. cake w/fondant if I dont have gum paste???
I just realized I forgot to buy gumpaste. So I dont have any.
I was about to sit down to start all this. Both my babies are napping so I need to start ASAP to have enought time to finish.

Any help?

Yes, yes, yes! Go for it. The fondant roses will just take a little while to dry out!

I don't see why you couldn't!! Can you make a quick royal icing for the roses to stay on the cake, or use some buttercream, when it dries it works great for me!

Thanks for the advice. I got all of them made yesterday. Then I spilled a whole bottle of water on them accidentally. icon_sad.gif
Thanks again.

I tried that method of adding gumtex to fondant to make some bows. I let them dry for over a week and they're still soft! I had added 1 teaspoon of gumtex - how much should i have added?

when I make them I use the wilton fondant, it tastes terrible but I always hope that noone will be wanting to eat the flowers anyways. I have used the MMF but I had to add more than 1 teaspoon to make it work and I did not like working with it as much. I like to use the MMF for other types of decorations that does not require for them to get stiff. I hope this helps
