Congratulations! It looks beautiful! And I for one, do care, because I am making my first "commissioned" cake this weekend for my niece's Christening. I have been addicted to CC in search of tips for success. If it is not a total flop, I will post pictures on Monday. You did a great job!

Great job. It's hard to imagine that one day making a stacked tiered cake will seem easy -- oh how I wish that was today. Congradulations!

those numbers are royal icing piped onto parchment paper. I popped them into a cold oven with the light on and they dried very quickly. I had also made some out of modeling paste, but I put pressure in the wrong place when I tried to insert them into the cake and one of the numbers broke. Lucky I made LOTS of extras just in case. The kids liked eating the extras, too. I put a small bend in the top of a wire and inserted it into the icing/modeling paste when they were wet. Then I put cocktail straws into the top of the cake and slipped the wires into the straws. Attached some flowers and voila! Thanks for your compliments!
