While walking through Target last night, I came upon a strange thing... Cupcake mix! I don't recall if it was DH or BC, but it was enough cake mix for 12 cupcakes.
So, it was half a box of cake mix for double the price. icon_eek.gif Someone in marketing deserves a raise. And you know people are going to buy it.

I've seen "cupcake kits" in speciality stores online but they include the cupcake liners and sprinkles along with the mix. Did these mixes include anything besides the mix?

Too funny. Genius marketing though. There will be people out there who think this is something new.

I guess if you just want one batch of cupcakes and you don't want to mix up the entire cake mix.... icon_confused.gif

Yep somebody will buy it. Kind of like there are like fifteen different sizes and shapes and wrappers for plain old Hershey bar candy. haha.

Sandra I am so glad you said that...because some cakes are really not meant to adapt to cc's. I didn't know this till I tried a "tried and true" recipe last year, in cup cake form....didn't work...they sank every time. I guess the cc mixes would work for smaller families...Kinda like those bags of muffin mix, in my family you have to make 3 bags of the stuff to get enough muffins (don't have the patience in the morning to make homemade muffins).

I feel like going to Target and looking for the box of "cupcake mix"! I agree what a great marketing idea.

I was watching one of the morning shows (I think it was the Today Show) They did a feature on the cupcake craze. I guess is is huge, everywhere! So my guess is that they saw this craziness and went for the $$$$$$$$.

Why.. oh why.. didn't I think of it first?????????????
