He was trying to ride his big brother's bike and fell off of it. He barely cried when he fell, but complained for about 30 minutes that it hurt on the top, so I took him the Children's Urgent Care. The doctor was amazed that he was smiling and using his hand with the type of fracture it is. He gets his cast tomorrow evening! DH and I were actually surprised that it took him this long to break something, lol. He has NO FEAR of anything, will try anything if another kid asks him to or tells him he can't, and is an all around dare devil! My 6 year old on the other hand over thinks everything and is very cautious! I have a feeling that this is the first of several broken bones we will have with our 4 year old!

Jen, I feel your pain...lol there's 10 year's difference between my sons and the younger one was always trying to keep up with his big brother. The younger one was always the one in the emergency room, not the older one!

Poor kid.
My boys are like that too, the oldest screams at everything and is a big chicken but his little brother who's four years younger will try anything. I think it's something about little brothers wanting to keep up. icon_lol.gif

Both of my kids broke their right arms when they were three, and both by falling down the stairs. Sheesh! As soon as they got their casts on they were good to go and you would never know they had broken anything (except for the neon cast). They love to pick their cast color! Beware though, because the cast can - and will - be used as a weapon icon_twisted.gif

My oldest just got a cast off his arm last week. He's the really careful one of the 3 and the one tha always seems to get hurt. He broke BOTH of the bones in his lower arm and dislocated his wrist on the SECOND day of school. It was so bad that they thought they were going to have to put pins in. Fortunatly they didn't and as soon as the pain meds wore off I caught him outside jumping on the tranpoline next door with his friends. icon_eek.gif

It's a good thing you took him to get it checked out.

My oldest will hardly cry if he really hurts himself, while my youngest still cries over boo-boos he had months ago, lol!

I know how you feel!

My son broke his arm when he was 5, at school, and he wasn't crying, just saying that he couldn't move his arm. The principal didn't want to call me he said there was nothing, but the secretary said that it wasn't normal for him to "complain" that he was hurt. So she called me, and it was broken. He needed pins and surgery. He rarely cries... My mom is like that.
