The photos are too big to attach here, but they are in my photos. It was my take on Debbie Brown's Sunken Ship cake, and I had so much fun making it. My son and his friends loved it. I was hoping to get some orders from parents, but they all dropped their kids off. There are so many things I would do different, but I have to say I love this cake. It is one of my favorites I've done so far, and I can't wait to do another of her cakes!

Oh is that cute! How did you get the wood graining in the 'boards' on the ship?

I've not messed too much with fondant, yet. But I'd love to try something like this.

Cupcake...I just used a sharp knife to make all the grain marks in the wood. I cut out each board then made the marks on the before I applied them to the cake. It took a lot of time, but was fairly easy.

Thanks everyone! It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun also, and totally worth every minute when my son saw it! He gave me a huge hug and said "I'm glad I have the best mom in the whole world so I don't have to have a cake from Wal Mart."
