There is a white dog laying in our trash box. (We don't sit out cans, we just put it in a large wooden box. We share it with my fil.)

This morning my jack russell came unglued going after this dog. All she did was scare it into the neighbors yard. I had to take my boys to school, so we just left.

Here's my main problem, other than stated above....this dog is limping and I don't know anything about it...never seen it before BUT I can not find the dog catcher's name in the phone book......anywhere......I even tried the www.yellowpages.com site and ..........nothing. I know his first name, and I called my dh, but he couldn't remember his last name either.

Does anyone know who I could contact about this dog? It's not hurting anything (yet) but I just don't want it there.

I thought about waiting until my fil came home from work and getting him to run it off. Dh told me to throw rocks at it and have our dog try to run it off while she was on the leash.

I just don't want to fool around with that b/c it's hurt and I don't know what it would do.

Sorry to sound like a crybaby, but tomorrow morning is trash pick up and........anyway. CC, can ya help me on this one?

I don't know what city you live in but can you try to google "Humane Society"? We have one here which is an animal shelter. There must be a better way to help this poor creature than to throw rocks at it or have your dog chase it off.

Well, that sounds mean, now that I reread what I wrote....let me clarify, my dh did not want me to hit the dog with the rocks, he just wanted me to throw rocks in the dogs direction.........close to the dog. Ok, got that clarified, lol!

Thanks, samsgranny, I'll try that..........humane society wasn't even in my mind.

Call your local town hall. They should have the number of the dog warden.
