Depending on what type if icing your using the half butter half shortening icing is a off white color naturally. In order to get a pure white you need t add Wilton white white to it.
The other thing you may be able to do would be use a natural flavoring, sometimes they will add a little color that will make you icing off white kind of like a bone white or an ivory color. If that isnt off white enough I know Wilton has some light colors that may be able to be added to change the color for you.
