Hi - I'm thinking about taking the plunge and purchasing an airbrush. I've read through many posts on what people use, looked online, etc... but am still confused. Was hoping you airbrush users our there could give me some advice on the following:

1) I'm thinking of going with one of the KopyKake systems (there are a few different models). Which one would you purchase? I'm thinking although one always wants to save money I should buy the top of the line so I don't regret saving a few bucks later. Also, do others have an opinion if there are better brands to look at?

2) I'll need to learn the technique obviously. I was looking at the cakelady airbrush DVD - has anyone used this? Its dated but I assume the technique is still the same. Is there maybe a better book or DVD omeone can recommend?

TIA!

Do you mean Francis Kyper aka Cakeady? I took a one week class from her years ago and really got a lot from it. I use my airbrush constantly and the little tricks she taught years ago are just as relevant today as before, so if SHE has a video I would say yes...She also had/has a paper back book out on the airbursh don't know if it is still available but I have MY copy!

I just bought the Kroma Jet and I love it. I bought it because of the price. 150.00 plus shipping. I just had it for about 2 weeks but I try to use it every chance I get.

I purchased the Airmaster by KopyKake, I have had it awhile and was worth the money. Another technique person is Roland Winbeckler, he has some good instructions. Most of the cake supply stores or possibly Amazon .com may carry his manuel.

I also have the Airmaster and really don't use it that much but when I do, I love using it. I find it easy to use and easy to clean. I bought the higher priced model, because I plan to do more with my cake business once I retire from my full-time job and thought the bigger model would hold up better over the long run.

A big thank you to all who provided input. I'm sure you'll see more posts from me with questions once I get the airbrush!
