Hi,
I got an order for cupcakes, but I don't have any idea of how much should I charge. icon_cry.gif
What is a good price for a decorated cupcake? How do you normally deliver them? in what type or tray ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I usually put mine in a cake box for the customer. Regarding pricing - what kind of decorations are you doing?

I've never been asked to do cupcakes, but I've read posts on here that state 1.50 for a basic BC cupcake.

If someone wanted roses or more details/more elaborate decorations, I guess it would depend on how much time/effort went into it.

Maybe you could search for the thread?

I came across a new product for delivering cupcakes. They are thin, hard plastic sheets that have 12 slight depressions in them where you place the cupcake. The sheet fits in a cake box for, I think, a quarter sheet cake. Two sheets fit in a half sheet box. They cost me $1 each, so they aren't very expensive. Before coming across these, I was using foam trays that were originally used to deliver produce to the grocery store. They worked great, but are getting a bit worn after many years of use!
For cost, check out the local grocery store to get an idea of what they charge and use that as a base. You'll want to charge a bit more, because yours are made-to-order.

Another tranporting idea. Cut a thin piecce of styrofoam to fit the bottom of your cake box and insert toothpicks into it. Press cupcake down onto it and no sliding!

Hi biviana,

Pricing depends a lot on the market area in which you live, but this is what I charge (I'm outside of Philly): plain $9 dozen; simply decorated $12 dozen; and eloborate (difficult characters, roses, stencil, etc) decorations $1.50 or more.

Hope this helps.
