I used a touch extra vanilla, and I use Mexican vanilla (Danncy). They were lightly flavored, not too bland, not overly sweet. Make sure to measure the salt - I used to just guess, but I measured for this as it was a new recipe for me, and it was a lot more than my guesstimate.

I made these for Thanksgiving and added between 1/4 and 1/2 cup Jif peanut butter to them ( I just kind of guess). With the slightly salted peanut butter BC the folks here are gobbling them up.
