Hi Everybody,
I usually post in the cookies forum. I need some help. My daughter's birthday is coming up and I have booked a place called the Miami Children's Museum. The decoration is included in the price so I do not want to go out and buy different colors of plates, etc. My problem is that the colors are not quite girl-friendly. They are the three primary colors (red, blue, and yellow). I have kind of come up with either a daisy theme or a sunflower theme (which do you guys like better?). I also had a few crazy ideas like making "cupcakes" in flowerpots for the kids and making three daisies (or sunflowers) and making bouquets for the kids and a daisy (or sunflower) cake for the parents. I also thought of making cupcakes, putting fondant flowers on top and putting them on 2 cake stands in place of the bouquets. I don't know I really need some help. If you guys can come up with a better theme using these colors (red, blue, and yellow) or any other ideas please help. My daughter will be 5 and the party is Oct. 14. Also, the museum is a kid's museum where they make believe they work at a supermarket, etc.
Thanks so much,
Elvira

how about a cupcake cake arranged in the shape of a daisy or a sunflower (both are nice, for little girls, daisy's might be more cute) get the design and ease of serving

-----------------
or a large sheet cake made to look like a flower box (brown sides, "dirt" (crushed oreos top) and then flower-shaped candy or cookie pops stuck in -- sort of like this cake: flower garden cake by lovetobake.

HTH
happy caking.

I love the idea of the flower pot cake . . . I'd probably go with the sunflowers only because you can really use a bright yellow to match the decorations at the museum. You could use some cute gingham ribbon around the cookies or something to that effect . . . tie it all in.

Wow! Thanks to both of you. I loved your ideas! The flower box sounds awesome and the gingham ribbon sounds really cute too. I guess you both thought that the flowers were good ideas. My friend had her daughter's party there (before I met her so I didn't get to see how it turned out) and she had a ladybug theme so I didn't want to use that one but I was thinking maybe I could add bees to the daisy idea (or maybe the flowers are enough).
Thanks for your cool ideas.

I like the idea of bees on the daisys too . . . sounds perfect for where you are planning it.
