a caramel pecan filling. How do I go about attempting to make this? Someone on here directed me towards a butter pecan recipe on this site which I will try if I can't find a caramel pecan filling. Have any ideas on how to do this?

TIA

No clue, but here is what I might do. Make my buttercream and use CARAMEL coffeemate as my liquid. I wouldn't want to put pecans into my frosting as it would make the frosting chunky........ I'd suggest a food processor to make it dust, but I would be afraid it would make it into Pecan Butter... How about chopping the nuts really fine and then setting some of the caramel buttercream aside for piping and then mix in the pecans for a crunchy frosting....

Here's a recipe to try.

I know when making king cake's we sometimes add brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans in the center of the dough and then roll it up. The sugar then melts. I don't know if that would work for a cake though, it may have to be some kind of dough like for pastries or a brioche.
