Cake For An Archie Comics Theme Party? Help!
Decorating By karennayak Updated 1 Oct 2006 , 5:40am by karennayak
I have an order for this Saturday... but no ideas at all
All I can think of are sheet cakes with the main characters free-handed in butter-cream , which I really don't want to do!
A Cafeteria tray (Pop tate's)(Sheet Cake) with a 3d Hamburger, fries and a coke on it?
How would I do a glass of coke? Bubbles? Hamburger and Fries I can do, Coke Can at a stretch, but a glass of fizzy coke?
Please help!
Karen
Karen,
Have you ever done frozen buttercream transfers? My hubby and I did our first last night and I swear we are NEVER doing freehand work again! I will post pics of it later today after the cake is assembled.
My point is you could FBCT Archie and the gang onto the front of the cake.
Or if you don't want to do that, what about doing a sheet cake and carving it into Archie's old jallopy and writing the birthday message on it using the style font that they use in the title of the comics?
BTW...meant to say that the hamburger is a great idea. I have no suggestions for you on the coke glass. Check the galleries though. I have seen some amazing cakes that look like liquid in a glass.
Thank you hockeygirl658
My daughter is very clear that she does not want a "flat cake" So it has to be something 3D.
I think "Betsy" Archie's car is a great idea. I will tell her when she returns from school.
As for the coke glass... If you can , please send me the links as I unable to find what I am looking for.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

What about Archie's jalopy with fondant or gumpaste characters in it?

Okay, I'm back again! I found a link for a drinking glass. It is the wrong shape for the glass you want, but I think you could get some ideas there.
Also, you could bake it in a can to get the shape you want. And if you make it a float, instead of just a coke, so you can fill the top with "foam" and a cherry on top.
HTH! Be sure to post a picture when you are done.
And I guess it would help if I would attach the link so you could use it! ![]()

Just wanted to let you know that the cake is done and the party is over!
If you would like to see it, it's in my photos.
Thanks for all the help,
Karen
