I was wondering if anyone has seen these beautiful swarovski crystal monogram wedding cake toppers that are popular right now- how are they made? How would you keep the wire from bending, or are they not made of wire and beads? (Maybe flat backed rinestones and a metal monogram shape??) Please let me know how if you have made these!
Thanks!
PS- I know they can be ordered from many places- they are EXPENSIVE! I want to know how to make them.
Here's an example:

Hi -I would like to know as well, I have been looking for the individual crystals as well. A ll I have been able to find are the kind that Michaels have , they are not very pretty and they dont sparkle as much. I would like to know if they are very expensive. ![]()
Most of the toppers are made from metal, pewter, acrylic mirror back in silver and gold. The crystals can be ordered. There is a place called WMI Designs website www.wmidesigns.com that you can order the letters and the crystals seperately. They have a variety of colors if you choose to put your own on the letters. They are precision cut by order. The company has always given me good service. I use these to incorporate different looks. They are a little high, but they will last forever. They also have various shapes like hearts and such. The crystals are of good quality.
The one in your photo appears to be beads strung on wire which is bent. At least that is how it looks on my computer. That would be the easiest way to do it.
I have also seen wooden ones painted gold or silver, and gumpaste cut-outs decorated with the crystals. (non-edible, of course.)
They are VERY EXPENSIVE!! I've looked at www.verydifferentcakes.com for idea. I have not figured out how to make my own yet. But this is a good site to look at for ideas.
HTH,
Chrissy
