Ok, I'm sorry for you that love this stuff, but I hate it!
I read a few posts on here about how good it is, and my DS said she had tried it the other day and really liked it. She said that if I wanted to have a hurry up icing that I should buy some.
Well....... that is the last time I buy something like that without first giving it a try. (I was in a big hurry when I was there buying my stuff)
To make matters worse, since I have several cakes coming up very soon, I BOUGHT A WHOLE BUCKET!!!!!!!!!! How dumb can can you get?
Now What In the world will I do with all that yucky stuff? I will not sell a cake with that on it. $26.00 down the tubes!
I have to agree. My mom just bought me a Sam's Club cake for my surprise 30th birthday (she had the best of intentions!) and it used to be OK (just OK) to me but now...YUCK! I'm getting spoiled trying out all the yummy icing recipes on CC. Even my husband commented how he likes mine much better. ![]()
Maybe you could stretch your usual BC with it. Maybe add a cup or two to a batch of your normal icing and see how that tastes. At least that way you don't have to just throw it out. I don't like it either by the way.
If you had done a search about it you would have seen how much some of us hate it! I can't stand it. It tastes cheap and gets oily in the bucket. I tried mixing it with a little cake flour and that cut the sweetness a lot and helped the texture too. You could try mixing it with cream cheese, that might help too.
Is it the Rich's bettercreame or some brand with a similar name? I've never had a cake from Sam's club but I hate the stuff our local grocery store has and that's what they use.
I know some people love it and some of my husband's relatives say that icing is icing, it's all fine. ![]()
