I just love all her comments. She makes sooooooo much sense when she answers questions, tell little stories, give advice, tough love...Sometimes she cracks me up, sometimes she makes me say "yep that's right", etc.

In fact I love coming to this sight, reading for hours. Everyone really is so helpful, and full of knowledge and willing to share.

Thank you all. Now, can someone tell me if they have a good caramel cake recipe from scratch? Not with apples, nuts or extra stuff, just good caramel cake with frosting.

Okay, add me to the indydebi fanclub! Sometimes I read a post and think-boy, I can't WAIT to see Debi's take on THAT!!!

I used to have a really good (and old, it was from my great aunt) recipe for caramel cake...-I'll look for it.

Indydebi for Class President! - hope she doesn't think we're stalkin' her or anything weird icon_rolleyes.gif

So true!!!

I only wish I could have goten to my niece in Indy and told her about indydebi when she was making wedding plans. Went to her wedding on June 30th and the food was good but the cake was really sad.

Sorry, I dont know of a good recipe for caramel cake with frosting but it sure sounds good.

Agreed. She is a very wise woman. I've been a member here for two years, but never visited. I've visited more the last few weeks and really enjoy her comments.

Yeah, I can't think of too many people that run a business like what she has, and still takes the time to coach all the rookies along!! My thanks to her also!

Sorry, Cakes-R-Us, no caramel cake recipe here. Maybe do one of those substitution things with the flavored creamer?
On the flip side, if there is an indydebi fan club forming, sign me up! She is an incredible asset here at cc, and her e-personality really shines through...

Don't ask me how I missed this, but thanks to the PM's alerting me this thread.

You guys are incredible icon_redface.gif .... and a little on the crazy side! madhatter.gif

I shared these with hubby and he rolled his eyes and said, "They've no idea what they've just done to me!" icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

But this is what's great about CC .... lots of great experiences to pull from and learn from.

With the preface that I am SO certain I will omit some really great names that deserve recognition, I put at the top of my "listen and learn from these guys" list such great talents as leahs (and I bow down to this lady!), CarolAnn, ShirleyW, BrandisBaked, thedessertdiva, cambo, leily, "The Great and Powerful" Doug, JanH, mkolmar, and I'm leaving out a whole bunch of well deserving names.

I know my "style" is a little different than most and I'm very grateful that y'all take me in stride! icon_wink.gif

You've given me a great ending to an otherwise pretty crappy day! Luv ya all!! icon_biggrin.gif

icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif well thank you so much for listing me. I have learned so much from you and enjoy seeing your responses to everything! I have learned to put my foot down and not feel bad about it, and enjoy making cakes so much more b/c of it. I have also gotten the chance to do cakes that I never thought I would be able to do for an order. (yeah I hear it from family/friends, but we all know it is different when you hear it from someone else!)

(((((HUG)))))) indydebi!

definitely enjoy your wit, your plain ol' common sense (horse sense we called it), entertaining tidbits, practical advice and all around fun and experience you bring to CC.

Yep, I'll be reading along and a post will really catch my attention, and I look to see and there she is! And I just have to laugh or nod or hmmmm. I wish I had more time to get on here but I enjoy my "I'm off to my own thing, leave me alone" Sunday evenings so much on here. Reading and learning and being inspired and hoping to maybe inspire a bit myself. Thanks guys.

The wedding and reception was at the Eiteljorg Museum. Now tell me that you did not do the cake or I am going to run and hide. icon_redface.gif

So bad. Scare me like that. icon_lol.gif I did not think so. Funny thing about the cake, it was covered in fondant that was badly cracked but when it was served there was no fondant on any of the slices.

I love Debi so much!!! lol (the sista kinda love icon_wink.gif) She has helped me with so many things and has inspired me to keep going with this.

Everything she says is gold! lol There have been countless times where I'll be sitting here and bust out laughing or say "uhhhhhhhhhuh! that's right!" to the computer and hubby will ask who I'm talkin to and I'll say Debi and he's like "but you aren't on the phone and the microphone isn't hooked up---hunny are you ok?" lmao and I'll have to explian... and there have been times we've sat in bed at night talking about things that have happened that day at work and I'll chime in with something clever that Debi has said lmao we'll talk for hours about things going on in CC world and Debi's name always, without a doubt comes up lmao.

He says if ever I'm cheating on him the first place he's lookin for me is on CC with Debi lmfao. (as he knows I'd never really cheat and CC is my only escape from reality sometimes lol)

But yes the love for Debi grows with everything I read of hers... at first I didn't like her point of view and always complained that she was bitchy lmao but now that I've paid attention and have needed her help and really listened to the things she had to say in full I see she really isn't bitchy she's just a well informed woman who is teaching me a great deal on how to grow to be a wonderful respectful woman one day icon_wink.gif yeah I'm only 28 and am just barely outta bein a kid as my friends say so I have alotta grownin up to do yet and when I do grow up I wanna be a mix between Debi and Melvira icon_wink.gif I love these two ladies like "they my momma" lmao (said with the most hillbillyish twang possible lmao)

Hey, OhMyGoodies! Stop telling people I'm not bit**y! I have a reputation to maintain ya know! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I was cracking up reading your post .... and loving every minute of it! You are frequently on my "I'm with ya, sista!" list! I love laughing along with all of ya!
