What size do most of you do your smash cakes? I am assuming 6 in.? I have an order and she wants a smash cake. This will be my first one. Thanks in advance.

I have a 4" pan from Wilton that I use & it is only one layer. I do not fill it. I have also done giant muffin like cupcake too. I think 6" is too big and people expect the smash cake to be cheaper just because they are letting the baby tear into it. Nope..... I charge regular price if they want a big smash cake.

I always use a 4" or 5" single layer cake as a smash cake. If I don't have any of those made, I'll use a 6" as a last resort. My smash cakes are complimentary for 1st birthdays, so I don't think they need to be any bigger than that.

6 inch here also - single layer. I usually end up over decorating them for the price just because I love how cute they are and I want it to match in some way the larger cake.

I made a 6 in single layer for my son's first birthday...I thought it was perfect (of course we didnt let him even eat 1/4 of it....but he mostly played in it anyway)...and its got to be chocolate (for some great pics) haha....
