Okay here goes. I thought when you use an enhanced cake mix recipe that you use the mix and add other ingredients such as a box of pudding, or sour cream, ect. and you DO NOT add the ingredients called for on the back of the box. I have used the super enhanced cake formula and another recipe for carving and never added any of the ingrediants on the box. Please let me know if I am doing this wrong. The cakes tastes great. Thanks!
You are doing it RIGHT -- the enhanced recipes on this site are those in which your cake mix is simply one of the ingredients -- you follow the enhanced recipe as it is written...
you will see some people post about their doctoring recipes and they will say to add in addition to what the box calls for -- they are not doing the "enhanced" per se they are doctoring -- for instance, if I am doctoring and not following an enhanced recipe I will add an extra egg, a package of instant pudding and use milk instead of water called for -- I still do what is on the mix but add and make those changes...
Now, be careful - the cake mix extender recipe on this site isn't an enhanced recipe so to speak but is a doctoring - just read the recipe carefully..

Got it, lcottington, and thank you. I had read something earlier where someone asked the same question as I just did about the "super enhanced cake formula" and someone told her to add the box ingrediants in addition to what the recipe called for. That's why I questioned myself. Feeling a little more at ease now.
