Last weekend, our brand spanking new neighborhood had a get together for everyone. I had some cake scraps and made cake balls. Evertone loved them. I found out that one of my neighbors is a caterer, and she JUST called me and asked me to make some!

She asked me to quote her a price, and after looking at what others have charged, I figured $5/dozen was pretty fair. She offered me $10/dozen! I actually tried to talk her down in price, but she refused!

AACCKK!!! I am SOOOO excited!

Congratulations! (p.s. If you are baking for profit...you should never be the one to negotiate down on a price! hehe!)

That is fantastic! Congratulations icon_smile.gif I am dying to try these but I was confused and thought you added powdered creamer but I guess it is the liquid stuff I need to use.... and I have to find some good chocolate to dip them in.

The truth is, I am afraid to make them because they sound luscious and I know I will eat them soooo fast it would make your head spin (and my waist expand!) icon_lol.gif

CakeDiva73 - you make me laugh because that is another reason I'm afraid to make them! (the biggest problem is that I eat all the cake scraps and then there is nothing left to make cake balls with!) ha ha ha

I use a small cookie scoop for mine to keep them all uniform, and dip them in dark chocolate candy melts. MMM icon_smile.gif

That was the first time I had ever made them! I think they were about quarter size. I had some leftover devils food and yellow cake scraps. Tossed in some chocolate chips, bc icing, and dipped in melted chocolate chips.

And I agree about the price negotiating, but I am not a good one to price myself well. I am always afraid of over-charging. icon_razz.gif Hopefully all goes well, and she asks for more!

Thanks everyone!

I'll post pics soon - we just moved and DH has not yet hooked up the thing so I can upload photos...

If you do a search using the words "cake AND balls" you will get lots of info but here is a link in the meantime:

Never made these before...so did you ice these with bc icing before dipping in chocolate????

Do you use the liquid creamer or powdered coffee mate??

I am going to try these this week. My tummy is growling as I type this... icon_biggrin.gif

I mix in the bc. Kinda acts like a "cement" to keep the cake together and moldable. And I do not use creamer or any liquid, or else mine are mush - literally. So a bit of bc and that's it!

Oh you two...YOU make me laugh! I loved the avatar too. Just cracks me up and I figured its perfect for this site! And the "fat pants"...*sigh*

And BTW - I adore your avatar too! TOO CUTE!

None of my jeans fit me at the moment. So I am living in sweats. I REALLY need to get on the stick and lose some weight! Ergo, the fat pants siggy. icon_rolleyes.gif

Can't wait to hear how you like the cake balls!
