Well, tomorrow is my big day...my FIRST paid cake! icon_eek.gif
I'm nervous as heck and I'm a little confused on what to do now. I've been thinking and overthinking it. I need help.
Here's what I'm doing..... It's a luau party and I'm doing a pig on a platter (laying on it's tummy). I'm using 2 horseshoe pans butted up together to make the legs coming out from under the body and a egg shaped pan for the body. My plan was to place the egg shaped body on top of the horseshoe legs using a cardboard piece and dowel rods to support the body. Hopefully you can picture what I'm doing...

Here are my questions:

1) How should I handle that gap that will occur from the body being raised above the "platter"?
2)Should I cut the horseshoes to make seperate "legs" and place the body on the "platter" and attach the legs to the body instead of my original plan?
3)Is there an easier way that I should be doing this?

I'm so new at this... please help!

You all are wonderful and inspire me everytime I come on here!!

I would cut the legs out of the horseshoe pan and just lay them beside the egg shaped pan so the whole cake is one layer. I think you're making it more difficult than it needs to be by trying to lay the egg on top of the horseshoes.
