Hello again everyone! So...I go to roll the fondant and hey look at that...no powdered sugar. It's 1am, I need to finish the fondant accents, airbrush them, put them on the cake AND do a whole other cake that I haven't even started yet....and I have no PS. Can I use corn starch or something? The only other powdered substances that I have here are...
Baby powder...ha, don't think that would taste to good! ![]()
Baking Powder ...NOT ![]()
Royal Icing mix?? ![]()
Gumpaste mix?? ![]()
or corn starch??? ![]()
What do you think?? Any suggestions? I appreciate all your help everyone. I wouldn't be able to do this any more without CC!!
i thought about that too, becasue of the crisco, but I was thinking that once u roll it out the side u airbrush wont have the crisco... hope it works out for you
Either cornstarch or Crisco. Only thing I find is that the cornstarch will dry out the fondant quickly so don't use too much. Also, sometimes it's hard to roll out on the cornstarch because it just slides around. The Crisco holds the fondant in place better but I don't know anything about the airbrushing with the Crisco.
Good luck.
P.S. I thought I was the only one finishing a cake at 1 am with another still to do for tomorrow deadline. Yikes!
