Most florists know how many flowers are needed for what size cake the bride wants for her design. And when they go to decorate the place where the wedding is they are supposed to decorated the cake with the flowers. Or atleast the ones I know of anyway.
My brides are instructed to leave the cake flowers on the cake table. *I* will put them on the cake! Florists around here are relieved to hear that they don't have to put flowers on the cake.
Indydebi - I agree with you completely, I just have a weird trust issue that they're not going to end up right... but I guess then its the bride's problem, not mine - which is how it should be. I think I may have the bride that doesn't have a clue - because the only set aside 20 roses for the cake- which is supposed to have flowers filled in between tiers of a 14", 10" 6" and also on top of 4 - 8" rounds that are separate (she had spoke to me that 3 would be nice on top of each of those - so that's a dozen right there!!).... I'm going to lay it all back on her, I've spoken with the florist and then I'll speak with the bride again to finalize and let her tell the florist exactly what to order. I'm glad you made me see the light!!!! It seems so obvious, but when I'm working with the bride, I want to make it the easiest on her... but that's not always the most sensible option.
Does anyone have a sample order form to share?
Sarahkate - when I get a chance at home, I'll attach my order forms here for you to check out. If you'd like, I can email them to you. I know what you're going through trying to get it together as I had a forum a while back about the same thing, needing some samples, and that's to great CC members, I got a few sample forms and created my own from that and I'm pretty happy with how they work.
