We have three clear leaders so far, so please vote for the theme you'd like to see for August. As always, please only vote once! icon_wink.gif

The poll will run until the end of the month, then I will link to the new thread announcing the winner.

Questions? http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-352603-theme.html+month+faq

Or PM me, as always!

Ok, my friends, it looks like Space is in the lead. We will leave the polls open just a little longer...probably until tomorrow. I notice we don't have that many votes yet. Kind of makes me wonder how we ended up with 150 or more last month. icon_confused.gif

I'm kind of thinking two reasons, there were lots of comments on the last poll so it was easier to find and click for the vote and I think the Harry Potter thing mattered alot to people on both sides of it. The people who REALLY don't like Harry didn't want him to win even if they weren't going to do anything and fans wanted him to win even if they weren't going to make anything.
This months choices don't contain anything that people really love or hate to such an extent.
Maybe the poll will work so long as there isn't a choice that people feel really strongly about, if something like this is suggested again maybe that month we could run a thread where you have to write your vote.

I composed a very similar response to mbelgard's last night, but lost my internet connection before my response was uploaded.

There were over 150 responses to the July Poll thread, which kept the poll on the front page pretty frequently. This poll is pretty hard to find, unless you're looking for it.

As mbelgard said, Harry (and patriotism, for that matter) is a very emotionally-charged topic. Some people are opposed to the HP books on religious grounds, while others are avid HP fans.

I'll be happy, whichever way this poll goes this time. I proposed the toys and games theme, but voted for the space theme. icon_smile.gif

P.S. this "me too" post is intended to be a bump, to put it up on the front page again

I, for one, will be happy with any one that wins since I want to make something with the Superman logo for my sister's birthday and that would technically fit all 3 of the themes icon_biggrin.gif

Jules, you are absolutely right! It would work for any of them!!

It's funny because no one was making any comments here, and I was seriously starting to wonder if everyone was irked at me or something! I was really trying to figure out if I had done something!! icon_lol.gif

Anyway, I will end the poll in the morning and post a new thread! Keep your eyes peeled for it! icon_wink.gif

Last month't thread was so long because people were debating so much. It wasn't just the Harry Potter thing, there was alot of discussion about possibly banning holiday related themes in favor of finding something that wasn't typically associated with the month. This month none of the choices are "back to school" or "summer" so there isn't the need to debate it and all the themes are things that will make us be creative.

Alright, voting is over, and here is the new thread! I can't wait to see all of it... "Space" can be so broadly interpreted that I think we could see some really creative stuff this month!
