And it was so easy and it actually came together!! I'm sooo excited since my first (and only) attempt at MMF months ago failed miserably. I can't wait to use it to decorate my cookies with. WOOHOO!! icon_lol.gif

It worked out so well that I made two whole batches of it!!

JenWith, did you pour it onto a metal sheet or onto a stone/granite counter? I made it once from scratch using a Joy of Cooking recipe and it was gruelling! I worked it on a metal baking sheet (a jelly roll pan) and felt like I was going to have the arms of an olympic shotputter by the time it was through. It tasted so, so good but man icon_surprised.gif my Kermit the Frog arms do NOT have what it takes!

Congrats! I agree!

What??? Oniro, I made it a couple of days ago and it was no harder than maker MMF. And it tastes better and it's easier to work with. I used Michelle Foster's recipe posted here on cc.

I just made it the mixer with dough hook then took it out and kneaded it on the counter. And it wasn't that much kneading either. : )

You gotta try it! : ) I am never making MMF again.

I never had luck with MMF or RBC. What recipe did you use Jen (if you don't mind sharing!)?

Many thanks for putting me on to this - I can't wait to try it! I think the method I used is very old school (i.e. meant for a pastry chef with 20 inch biceps). Does the fact that the recipe posted here has dairy in it mean it's more perishable?

I don't know...I keep mine wrapped and ina ziplock on the counter, not refrigerated. It seems ok still.

Just what Okieinalaska said. I worked the fondant for the most part in my kitchenaid with the dough hook. I then kneaded it on my slipat, which I did grease a bit with Crisco (second batch) because I found it to be really sticky the first time around. But it really didn't need much kneading at all. To answer MichelleM77 question, I used Toba Garrett's fondant recipe. It was really easy. I'll have to check out Michelle Foster's recipe here on CC.

I'm very happy with the results I got. The first time (and only time) I made MMF, it was so dry, I could not work with it at all. I found the "regular" fondant to be much easier to make for some reason.

Thanks for sharing which recipe! I've thought about trying it, but not sure it was worth the trouble.
