ok all you expert bakers. I want to know what your favorite/most asked about cake and filling combinations are. I am starting to branch out and I am not good at imagining the possibilities.

I personally like chocolate cake with a peanut butter filling.

A lot of people like chocolate cake w/strawberry filling or raspberry filling.

I have found that alot of people like lemon and strawberry with either vanilla or royal icing. icon_biggrin.gif

Triple-fudge cake with chocolate BC filling and chocolate ganache icing.

I have done a banana cake with fluffernutter filling and frosting.

Other than that I really like carrot or spice cake with cream cheese or marzipan.

And the standard chocolate with coffee BC (mocha!)

I too love chocolate and peanut butter combo. I mix natural peanut butter with butter and powdered sugar until creamy. Its about 1 cup peanut butter to 1/2 cup butter to 3/4cup powdered sugar. I eyeball it to taste.

I also love lemon cake with strawberry filling, spice cake with apple filling(I've never decorated this before though), and strawberry cake with banana filling. I really don't think I've encountered a flavor combination that I haven't liked.
