Ok, this may seem like a silly thing to post on a thread, but....it has happened to me. How many times have you cracked your eggs directly into your bowl of ingredient to then realize that you have a missing piece of shell from your egg...then, you can't find it. Or, you have baked your cake and found a stray egg shell piece baked into your cake, then wondered if that is the only one.

Well, a tip on something that I have learned, from experience....crack your eggs into a separate bowl so you are able to check for egg shell pieces. Half the time, I find a piece of shell, and it is so much easier to fish it out of the egg bowl than the mixing bowl.

Learned this the really hard way! I was making a cheesecake and cracked an egg directly into the bowl and it was a fertilized egg (red, bloody) I had to throw all of it away and start over! So I AGREE always crack eggs into a separate bowl. icon_biggrin.gif
