I was wondering if I could ice a cake with bc, freeze and then cover with fondant or do I have to thaw it first? Thank you in advance. icon_smile.gif

If you don't at least semi-thaw your cake it will probably sweat in the heat of summer......speaking from experience......HTH

I agree w/ tiptop! I covered a partially frozen cake in fondant and found it sweat alot! It took a few hours under a fan to evaporate.

I covered a frozen cake just yesterday (because it was a carved one). Don't know how hot/humid it is where you are, and the worse that is, the more it will sweat. I did mine then put it in the fridge till the sweats disappeared, pulled it out to dec, then stored in the fridge overnight (my usual). It didn't sweat so bad that it dripped or anything, just the amount for, like, an 80 degree day.
