I love chocolate ganache on chocoate layer cakes, but does anyone have a recipe for chocolate ganache that can be used in a pastry bag for decorating with stars, piping, etc?

Thanks!!

I thought you could do it w/any ganache. just let it sit in the fridge to harden. but i'm not sure, i have never tried it. Can't wait to see replies.

Use your recipe, let it cool. put it in the fridge. then you can whip it up and it's ready to pipe!

If you need a recipe, the best ones can be found on

You can pipe with most any ganache. Just let it cool til it is the right consistency. I wouldn't whip it cuz it loses it's shine and the color dulls

Thanks for the info. If I do refrigerate & whip up the ganache before piping, how long do I keep it in refrigerator? Just until it gets hard? A few hours?

Thanks!!

just until it firms up but at the same time still soft (maybe an hour). Don't wait til it is hard though
This is a cake by NEWTODECORATING check the border piping. Piped with unwhipped ganache. The flowers however are made with tootsie rolls

Wow - thanks for showing the photo. The piping looks great. I'll definitely try that out.
