Hi All,
I want to make a cake with the Superman logo on it. You know, the big "S" that is on the shield. I need to cut the shape of the cake to look like that shield and it has to be approx 32-35 servings. ( 2 layers) Or one big cake that is approx 60-70 servings.
Because of the sharp "v" shape on the pointed end of the shield, a lot of cake would have to be cut off to make that shape. I can not figure out which size pan to use to get this shape and still make enough servings.
After cutting the shape right, a 10" square would not be big enough, but a 12" square is too big. Same goes with a 12" and 14" heart shape. Even a 1/2 sheet cake, cut in half and stacked, then cut to shape wouldn't quite be right.
Can anyone help with suggestions? Oh Doug.....
I don't want to just design the logo on a cake. It has to be cut to that shape.
Thanks so much for any help!

I made one using an 11x15 pan, then carved it. The picture is in my gallery. It did leave alot of cake left over, but I made a little smash cake out of part of it and had enough to make another....or some cake balls!
Thank you everyone! I just figured it out. I can make a 1/2 sheet cake, slice it in half diagonally, cut off two corners, then lay the halfs side by side in the correct shape. Duh!
I knew it couldn't be that hard.
Laura- Your cakes turned out great! I hope I can do mine as nice!
