I have been ask to make a wedding cake with 3 tiers similar to this picture. It is supposed to serve 200-250 people. What size cakes would you make? I have not quite mastered the serving size thing. Would anyone care to suggest a price $2.00-$2.50 per serving?

Thanks in advance!!!

I think it must be a 14,12,10,8,6 according to wilton that would feed 208 but if you cut them smaller you might get 250...If you went 16,14,12,10,8 that would feed 296 so I think that would be too much..

Hello, according to Earlene's chart a three tier would be 20, 14, 8. That would serve 230 and that does include the 8" in the servings. Can you suggest 4 tiers? That would be an 18,14,10,6. it will be a lot of cake!~
I have included the link to Earlene's chart.

unless its a 9" instead of an 8 that would give you 8 more servings..

Here....maybe this chart will help:

PS - I recently did a wedding for 250 people......I did a three tier stacked cake (14, 10, 6) and did 5 11x15 sheet cakes to supplement. Your bride might consider that option.

Ok assuming you are going to use the standard wedding cake serving size of 1x2x4
I would do a 6,10,12,14,16. To achieve the 5 tier look. That would give you 262 servings. Personally I charge $4 a slice for wedding cakes but that is a flat rate for everything. However I dont charge more or less for fillings and decorations, regardless of how they want the cake it is always $4 a slice. It really depends on your area, and what the standard is.

woops I missed the whole "3 Teirs" part..sorry about that.
I am going to have to agree with the sheet cake idea. In order to get that many servings out of a three teir cake, you'll have to make some huge rounds and it might look a little flattened. Maybe someone else can suggest something.
