How Much Liquid In Sugarshack Buttercream?
Baking By stawberrie Updated 18 Aug 2007 , 4:25am by grannys3angels
Hi, Everyone
I'm new to CC and I have found the sugarshack buttercream recipe but it doesn't have a liquid amount on it, just states what type of liquid. Do I just ad enough to get the consistancy that I want? Any ideas? I would love to try this recipe but can't figure it out. Helppppppp!!! ![]()
I was wondering the same thing. You put the liquid in before the sugar, so you can't really just add liquid until it is the right consistency.
Also, it says she uses the water/powdered creamer mixture hot. HOW hot? Wouldn't it melt the shortening? (Or is that the point?)
Hey! And welcome to CC......I am a newbie like you, but have already learned SO MUCH from everyone here!!
It's a WONDERFUL place with the BESTEST people!
Sugarshack actually started a thread with her tips for her BC icing, which I BELIEVE is the recipe you found (she was having trouble uploading it to the site, so I haven't seen it in the recipe section).
Here is the link to the thread that she started. Make sure you read all the way through it, because she and others have all added their input and tips to make it awesome! I haven't tried it personally, yet....but can't WAIT to have time to!

Hope this helps! Let us know how yours turns out!!
You're very welcome!
I know she was trying to get the recipe put in the recipe's section, because we were all looking for her post with the recipe in it.....awesome that she got it there!
She is VERY helpful, and check out her cakes, they are BEAUTIFUL! She has a link at the bottom of her posts to her website....worth looking!
Have a great night!
Hello everyone & welcome to CC !
Here is a link to her recipe & tips.....she did have trouble trying to post the recipe in the recipe area....so you might find more then the one.
She saids to use 1 cup hot water to 1 cup powder creamer, and to start off with about 12 to 13 tablespoons of the creamer mixture, then add more if needed to get the texture you want .
Here is the link to her thread call "My Buttercream Tips".

As ShooshBrat said in her post....try to read all of the post in the thread, great info, tips and some pictures and she is very helpful. I love the texture, smoothness and creamyness to this icing, and little to no air bubbles.
