I am searching for a tool that will create a scalloped border out of fondant. I seen a cake done this way at a food show I attended, and now I wish I would have asked about it.
It was scalloped with a design in it and it looked like the sections were about 6 inches long and they just wrapped it around the base of the round wedding cake. It was very elegant looking. I would like to find the tool they used to do this.
I have looked through the gallery pictures and haven't found any cakes with this technique.
Does anyone understand what I am asking? Is there an on-line store that you could recommend for me?
Thanks!
Yes I understand. Look here: :http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E30C96E-475A-BAC0-5A07E76ADD836146&fid=3E32BC16-475A-BAC0-52CBFB3D90D5CAE
I tryed to find it here at CC but could not. Still new to the area.
I just looked these up actually. I had asked a while back about something like this and was told that FMM (www.fmmsugarcraft.com) had them, and sure enough! lol
If you go to the website and click on the Cutters tab, there are some on page 16 and 17 that are called "Straight Frill Cutters" and will make scalloped edges, but no design. There are several lace molds there also, though, that will emboss a design as well as cut the general shape.
I have a set of these from wilton, they are great!
How about here: http://www.cakecraftshoppe.com/ They are in the states and sell FMM products also. No overseas shipping and they are fast. HTH
